SPORTS GROUND MAINTENANCE
Drag Brushing
We use a specialised drag mat on 3G pitches, the reason for this is to remove some of the large pieces of debris that can build up over time and to help balance infill levels. This can help avoid the lose of rubber from 3G pitches. Weather and natural play will also cause the surface to move and change. If left unbrushed deviations can certainly affect speed, roll and bounce of ball sports, along with also leaving certain parts of pitch fibres exposed and not supported. Players may notice a change in foot grip and ball behaviour. Regular drag brushing promotes and increase the life span of your pitch, helping avoid any future maintenance costs.
Artificial Brushing
Artificial Brushing uses a tractor mounted brush which combs the artificial pitch removing foreign objects and debris from the playing surface. Doing this regularly keeps the surface in excellent condition and supports the life expectancy of the playing and surround area.
Weed and Moss Control
Moss, Algae, and Weeds will most likely form on your playing surface as it ages; Usually around the verge of the pitch where there is less foot traffic. Weeds will be more active in the spring and autumn months, especially if you’ve had a lot of rain fall. Overhanging trees can be a big culprit too, with their leaves falling on the playing surface. Removal of leaves and debris is recommended as they can break down which will cause more problems. Weeds and Moss can be removed by either using a Tractor brush and/or combination of spraying with chemicals.
Litter and Debris Collection
Litter/Debris should be removed as much as possible, either daily or weekly. At a minimum with a backpack leaf blower.
Line Marking
We specialise in large sports grounds. We'll use league standard measurements or can tailor make the specifications to fit your playing area. We use ‘Bowgrass’ Line Marking Paint which is non hazardous, hard wearing, and water resistant.
Grass Cutting
Grass cutting is our speciality, its what we first started doing all those years ago in the 80’s. We operate a fleet of the latest ride-on, power mowers, walk behind mowers, and cutting equipment to meet the demands of any grass. We cut sport pitches on a weekly/biweekly/adhoc cycle using cylinder ride on mowers that leaves a striped professional finish, some pitches are cut twice a weekly depending on their growth.
Aerification/Rollering/Pitch Repair
Pitch repair and maintenance is essential for keeping an all year round playing surface. Football and Rugby pitches take heavy punishment resulting in soil compaction, which can then lead to poor grass growth and health. Spiking/Aerification can free the compacted pores in the soil to allow air and water to flow more freely.
We use a light roller to repair divots, ruts and foot traffic etc on pitches that have seen heavy use during a wet season. Leaving any repairs can result in player injury, uncertain ball bounce and an uneven surface.
